Summer Pregnancy Swelling

The combination of the hot weather and the salt content in foods that are popular around the summer holidays can exacerbate swelling for pregnant women.  Oftentimes, expecting moms opt not to wear rings and switch to very comfortable shoes due to the imminent swelling that the hot weather will bring for them.  To prevent summer swelling, watch your salt intake and drink a lot of water.

If your rings do get stuck on your fingers, try soaking them in cold water and then holding your hand above your head.  You can also try warm soapy water. There are also a bit more extreme approaches (e.g., tying a string around your finger) but we would not suggest trying this.

Other women swear by Windex, they say spraying it with a little wiggling, helps the rings come off. Even though it's a great trick to know, spraying hands with a window cleaning chemical to remove jewelry seems a bit precarious, so instead of relying on something like this, we suggest choosing to not wear rings for the remainder of your pregnancy.

Swelling is common in pregnancy. Aside from fingers, many women have swollen feet during pregnancy.

Here is Belli's Treatment for How to Reduce Swollen Feet in Pregnancy:
• Prep feet by using Skin Smoothing Body Exfoliator all over your feet and calves, then rinse.
• Follow with light foot massage using Foot Relief Cream. Ask your partner to massage your legs and feet for you, so that you can bond while feeling pampered.
• Finish by elevating feet above the heart for 10 minutes.
